Vancouver, BC – July 3, 2013 - The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada congratulates its chairman, Dr. John McArthur, for his recent appointment as Officer to the Order of Canada by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada. Dr. McArthur received this recognition for his accomplishments in the field of business education and his contributions as advisor to many organizations in the public and private sectors of Canada.
John H. McArthur served on the Harvard University faculty from 1962 and as Dean of the Harvard Business School from1980 through 1995. He is currently a board member at Aileron Therapeutics, Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Development Gateway, Duke University Medical Center, E-Rewards Inc., Koc Holdings A.S., National Coalition for Health Care, Stemnion Inc., and Thomson Reuters Founders Share Company. He has been a director of such organizations as BCE Inc., Bell Canada, Cabot Corporation, Chase Manhattan Corporation, HCA Healthcare Corporation, GlaxoSmithKline plc, Rohm and Haas Company, Springs Industries, Inc., Telsat Canada, and Teradyne Inc. He has been awarded honorary doctorates from Middlebury College, Queens University, Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Navarra in Spain.
