Quebec’s Enerkem Raises its Largest Financing Round of C$280 million

Enerkem, a world leading cleantech company based in Montreal, has announced the completion of a C$280-million investment round to further expand project development and implementation. Enerkem is a leader in waste-to-biofuels and chemicals production, and it recently launched the world’s first commercial-scale bioethanol operation in Edmonton, Alberta. In this funding round, U.S. global investment management company BlackRock and China’s Sinobioway Group joined as new investors. Sinobioway is engaged in bio-economy, with an affiliation to Peking University, and invests primarily in bio-energy, bio-environmental protection, bio-medicine, bio-agriculture, bio-service, bio-manufacturing, and bio-intelligence.
